How It All Started: From Jeotgal to Strawberries
케빈스초이스의 시작 – 젓갈에서 딸기까지
Kevin’s Choice began with a few passionate artisans from the agricultural city of Nonsan, Korea, a region famous for its fertile plains and high-quality produce. Our first imports were Korea’s most beloved fermented seafood—Kangkyeong jeotgal, made by Nonsan masters.
As our relationship with Nonsan grew, we started bringing in premium sesame oil, rice, and seafood like marinated crabs from Korea’s West Coast. The quality was unmatched, and our U.S. customers took notice. That success led to a new partnership with the City of Nonsan—a strawberry export project centered on Vitaberry.
케빈스초이스는 농업 도시로 유명한 논산에서 몇몇 장인들과 함께 시작됐어요. 논산은 평야가 넓고 땅이 비옥해서 좋은 농수산물이 참 많은 곳이죠.
처음엔 전국적으로 유명한 강경 젓갈을 미국에 소개하면서 논산과의 인연이 시작됐고, 이후 참기름, 쌀, 서해안에서 나오는 게장까지—좋은 품질의 제품들을 미국에 소개하기 시작했어요.
그런 과정에서 논산시와의 신뢰가 깊어졌고, 비타베리를 중심으로 한 딸기 수출 프로젝트도 함께 하게 되었습니다.

The Challenge of Shipping Korean Strawberries

세심한 관리가 필요합니다.
Shipping strawberries from Korea to the U.S. is a race against time. From farm to flight, to warehouse, to your doorstep—every second counts, and refrigeration must be constant.
Despite these challenges, Kevin’s Choice made it happen. With our experience in importing fresh products directly from Korea, we gained the City of Nonsan’s full trust to lead the U.S. Vitaberry project.
딸기는 수확 직후부터 시간이 생명이에요. 수확 → 공항 → 비행기 → 창고 → 배송까지 모든 과정을 빠르게, 그리고 계속 냉장 상태로 유지해야 하죠.
게다가 껍질도 얇고 예민해서 포장에도 정말 신경을 많이 써야 해요.
하지만 케빈스초이스는 이미 한국의 신선 식품을 다뤄본 경험이 있었고, 그런 점을 인정받아 논산시에서 비타베리 미국 프로젝트를 전담할 수 있도록 믿고 맡겨주셨습니다.
Sharing the Taste of Korea with the U.S

For many Koreans living in the U.S., the craving for Korean strawberries is real. It might sound bold—but there’s just no comparison. Korean strawberries are noticeably sweeter, juicier, and more flavorful than most American varieties.
The problem has always been access. Korean strawberries are delicate and difficult to ship internationally. Occasionally, they would appear in U.S. markets during spring—if at all—and at very high prices.
But Kevin’s Choice changed that. Through a direct partnership with the City of Nonsan, we were able to bring Vitaberries to the U.S. at a price that reflects their true value.
Yes, they’re still more expensive than local strawberries—but customers responded with joy, saying it was finally worth it to enjoy strawberries that actually taste like home.
And it’s not just Korean Americans. More and more people of all backgrounds are discovering the exceptional quality of Korean strawberries through Kevin’s Choice.
Compared to high-end Japanese brands like Oishii, Vitaberries are bigger, sweeter, and more affordable—a combination that’s hard to beat.
We hope even more people come to appreciate what makes Korean strawberries so special—and Kevin’s Choice is here to lead that mission.
As Vitaberry’s popularity continues to grow, more companies have started importing Korean strawberries.
But it’s important to know: Kevin’s Choice is the only officially recognized U.S. distributor of Vitaberry, trusted and certified by the City of Nonsan.
미국에 사는 많은 한국분들이 한국 딸기를 그리워하는 이유, 너무 잘 알아요. 좀 솔직히 말해서, 미국 딸기와는 비교가 안 될 정도로 한국 딸기가 훨씬 더 달고 맛있죠.
문제는 늘 ‘어떻게 가져오느냐’였어요. 딸기는 정말 예민해서 해외 유통이 쉽지 않고, 미국에 들어온다 해도 봄철 잠깐, 그것도 비싼 가격에만 볼 수 있었거든요.
하지만 케빈스초이스는 논산시와의 직접적인 협업 덕분에, 정직한 가격으로 비타베리를 미국에 소개할 수 있었어요. 물론 아직도 현지 딸기보다 비싸긴 하지만,
많은 분들이 "이 정도면 정말 값어치가 있다"고 말해주시고, "드디어 진짜 딸기 먹는다"며 좋아해 주셨어요.
그리고 이건 한국분들만의 반응이 아니었어요. 미국 소비자들도 케빈스초이스를 통해 한국 딸기의 진짜 퀄리티를 알게 되었고,
일본의 고급 딸기 브랜드인 오이시베리와 비교해도, 비타베리는 더 크고, 더 달고, 가격까지 합리적이라는 평가를 받고 있어요.
